About the Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers played their first season in Los Angeles in 1960 as an American Football League charter member, then spent the next 56 years in San Diego. Sid Gillman's early teams won the 1963 AFL championship. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Don Coryell's "Air Coryell" offense, led by quarterback Dan Fouts, changed how the passing game was played.
San Diego reached one Super Bowl, losing Super Bowl XXIX to San Francisco after the 1994 season. Later stars included Junior Seau, LaDainian Tomlinson and Philip Rivers.
In January 2017 the team announced its return to Los Angeles. It spent three seasons in a small soccer stadium in Carson, Dignity Health Sports Park, before moving to Inglewood in 2020. Jim Harbaugh became head coach in 2024, and the 2025 Chargers went 11-6 before losing a Wild Card game at New England.
The Los Angeles Chargers play in the AFC West with the Kansas City Chiefs, the Denver Broncos, and the Las Vegas Raiders.
SoFi Stadium guide
SoFi Stadium is in Inglewood, California, on the former Hollywood Park racetrack site. The Chargers moved in when it opened in 2020 and share it with the Rams, having contributed $200 million to its construction. It seats about 70,000 for NFL games. The playing field sits roughly 100 feet below street level, and a translucent canopy covers the bowl while the sides stay open, so it is technically an open-air venue. In 2026 it hosted FIFA World Cup matches, and it is scheduled to host ceremonies for the 2028 Olympics.
Getting to SoFi Stadium
For Chargers games, LA Metro runs a free SoFi Stadium shuttle from the LAX/Metro Transit Center, which is served by the C and K light rail lines. Starting with the 2026 season, the shuttle no longer leaves from Hawthorne/Lennox station. Rideshare and taxis use a designated drop-off area near the stadium, and the City of Inglewood runs off-site parking with shuttle service.
Parking
On-site parking passes are mobile-only, sold in advance and assigned by zone. Within a zone, spaces are first come, first served. Tailgating is allowed only in the designated Pink Zone lots and must end at kickoff. Fans without an on-site pass can book remote parking through the City of Inglewood's program and take a shuttle to the stadium.
Arrival and entry
Tickets and parking passes live in the Chargers' ticketing app, so save both to your phone's wallet before you arrive. The NFL clear-bag policy applies. Because the field is below grade, fans enter at street level, above the field, and walk down to their seats. Check the SoFi Stadium site for gate times on game day.
Seating tips at SoFi Stadium
The Chargers and Rams have separate benches and locker rooms on opposite sides of the field. Club seats run along both sidelines on the 100 and 200 levels, with field-level cabanas at the front. The 300 level is a sideline mezzanine, and the 400 and 500 levels form the upper bowl.
The canopy is translucent, so upper-level seats may still get sun during daytime games. Rows near the field-level sidelines give the closest view, while the 500 level along the sidelines shows the whole field from above.
Buying Los Angeles Chargers tickets on TixBit
AFC West games against Kansas City, Denver and Las Vegas tend to bring the most demand. Prime-time dates and the Rams-Chargers game also draw strong interest. Compare lower-level sideline sections with the upper bowl on the seat map, and check listing notes for quantity and row. Never fees for buyers.
