About the Carolina Panthers
The NFL awarded Charlotte an expansion franchise on October 26, 1993, and the Carolina Panthers began play in 1995. They spent that first season at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina, while their Charlotte stadium was under construction, then moved uptown in 1996. Founder Jerry Richardson owned the team until 2018, when David Tepper bought it.
Carolina has played in two Super Bowls. The 2003 team went 11-5 and lost Super Bowl XXXVIII to New England 32-29. In 2015, Cam Newton won NFL MVP as the Panthers went 15-1, and they lost Super Bowl 50 to Denver 24-10.
The 2025 Panthers won the NFC South at 8-9, the franchise's seventh division title and its first playoff trip since 2017, before a 34-31 Wild Card loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Dave Canales has been head coach since 2024.
The Carolina Panthers play in the NFC South with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Atlanta Falcons, and the New Orleans Saints.
Bank of America Stadium guide
Bank of America Stadium sits on South Mint Street in uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. It opened in 1996, seats about 75,000, and is an open-air bowl with no roof. Bank of America has held the naming rights since 2004 and extended the deal in July 2026. A renovation now budgeted at about $1.3 billion is under way: work during the 2026 season is mostly behind the scenes on aging building systems such as mechanical and plumbing, fan-facing changes start in 2027, and completion is targeted for 2030. The work is phased so the Panthers keep playing at home throughout.
Getting to Bank of America Stadium
The LYNX Blue Line light rail runs through uptown, and the team lists the Carson, Brooklyn Village, and Convention Center stations as within a few blocks of the stadium. The Blue Line has park-and-ride lots at stations to the south toward I-485, which lets fans leave cars outside uptown. For rideshare, follow your app's directions to the pickup and drop-off points near the stadium. The accessible drop-off is at Mint and Morehead streets.
Parking
The Panthers say there are more than 30,000 parking spaces within a 10- to 15-minute walk, spread across lots and garages run by different operators. Season ticket holders with assigned parking receive digital passes, and everyone else arranges their own, ideally by reserving ahead. Tailgating happens in surface lots around the stadium. Team rules bar charcoal grills in stadium-operated lots and require open flames to stay 25 feet from buildings and 10 feet from vehicles.
Arrival and entry
Panthers tickets are mobile, so have them ready in the team's ticketing app before you get in line. The NFL clear-bag policy applies. Because renovation work is phased around the event schedule, entry routes and concourse access can change from season to season, so check the stadium website for current gate information before you go.
Seating tips at Bank of America Stadium
Bank of America Stadium has a lower bowl, a club level, a ring of about 150 suites, and an upper deck above the suites. Lower sideline seats sit closest to the benches, while upper-deck seats trade proximity for a full view of plays developing. Club ticket holders get access to indoor club areas, and premium spaces include the 32 Club, named for its spot at the 32-yard line, and the 51 Club, which honors former linebacker Sam Mills.
There is no roof, so every seat is exposed to sun, rain, and December cold.
Buying Carolina Panthers tickets on TixBit
Games against NFC South rivals Atlanta, New Orleans, and Tampa Bay, prime-time kickoffs, and December games with playoff stakes tend to draw the most interest in Charlotte. Late-season games in the open-air stadium can be cold. Use the seat map to compare lower-level sideline sections with club and upper-deck options, and read each listing's quantity and seat notes. Never fees for buyers.
