About the Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills were founded in 1959 as a charter member of the American Football League and played their first season in 1960. Buffalo won back-to-back AFL championships in 1964 and 1965, which remain the franchise's only league titles.
The Bills joined the NFL in the 1970 merger. Under coach Marv Levy and quarterback Jim Kelly, they became the first team to reach four consecutive Super Bowls, playing in Super Bowls XXV through XXVIII after the 1990 to 1993 seasons, and lost all four.
The Josh Allen era brought a long run of AFC East titles under Sean McDermott. That streak ended in 2025, when Buffalo went 12-5, won a Wild Card game against Jacksonville and lost to Denver in the Divisional Round. Joe Brady took over as head coach for 2026, the team's first season in its new stadium.
The Buffalo Bills play in the AFC East with the New England Patriots, the Miami Dolphins, and the New York Jets.
Highmark Stadium guide
The Bills play at the new Highmark Stadium, officially Highmark BlueCross BlueShield Stadium, at 10 Bills Plaza in Orchard Park, New York, a suburb south of Buffalo. It was built across the street from the old stadium of the same name (originally Rich Stadium, later Ralph Wilson Stadium), which hosted its last Bills game in January 2026 and is being demolished. The new building was declared complete in June 2026. It seats about 60,000, with standing room bringing capacity to about 63,000, the fewest seats in the NFL. It is open-air, but a canopy that follows the shape of the bowl covers roughly two-thirds of the seats. The Bills opened it with a preseason win over Carolina and won the first regular-season game there, 41-31 over Detroit on September 17, 2026.
Getting to Highmark Stadium
Most fans drive to Orchard Park. The regional transit authority, NFTA, runs Game Day Express buses to Bills home games, and the Bills post routes, timing and policies for that service on their parking page. Check the Bills' game-day page for rideshare instructions before you go.
Parking
All Highmark Stadium lots require a parking pass bought in advance, and game-day sales are limited to accessible parking, which is cashless. Tailgating is a big part of a Bills Sunday. In team lots, each space includes the parking stall plus a tailgating area behind the vehicle, tents and grills are allowed, glass bottles are not, and tailgating ends at kickoff.
Arrival and entry
Security screening runs through the stadium's lettered gates, and tickets are scanned as you enter. The Bills follow the NFL clear-bag policy: clear bags up to 12 by 6 by 12 inches or a one-gallon clear freezer bag, plus a small clutch about the size of a hand. Load mobile tickets before you reach the gate, and check buffalobills.com for gate times and the permitted-items list for your game.
Seating tips at Highmark Stadium
The new bowl uses steep, stacked seating so fans sit closer to the field than in the old stadium, and seats above the north end zone are as close as 12 feet vertically from the field. About 2,900 spots are standing room.
Premium areas include the Field Club, whose lounge looks into the player tunnel, the two-level 716 Club, the East Club and the Founders Club. The canopy covers much of the seating bowl, but not every seat, so check the seat map if staying dry matters on a late-season game.
Buying Buffalo Bills tickets on TixBit
The new stadium has the fewest seats in the NFL, which keeps home tickets in demand. Division games against the Dolphins, Patriots and Jets and prime-time dates tend to draw the most interest, and December games bring real snow risk. Compare sideline and end zone sections on the seat map, and read quantity and seat notes before you check out. Never fees for buyers.
