About the Tennessee Titans

The Titans started as the Houston Oilers, a charter member of the American Football League. They began play in 1960 and won the first two AFL championships, beating the San Diego Chargers in 1960 and 1961. Earl Campbell and Warren Moon, both Hall of Famers, starred for the Oilers in later decades.

After 37 seasons in Houston, the franchise moved to Tennessee in 1997, playing temporarily in Memphis and then Nashville. It took the Titans name in 1999 when its new stadium opened. That first season ended in Super Bowl XXXIV, a 23-16 loss to the St. Louis Rams, after a Wild Card win over Buffalo decided by the kickoff-return lateral known as the Music City Miracle. Steve McNair and Eddie George led that team, and Derrick Henry later rushed for 2,000 yards in a season in Titans colors.

The Titans went 3-14 in 2025 and hired Robert Saleh as head coach. The 2026 season is their last in the current Nissan Stadium.

The Tennessee Titans play in the AFC South with the Indianapolis Colts, the Houston Texans, and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Nissan Stadium guide

Nissan Stadium sits on the east bank of the Cumberland River in Nashville, Tennessee, across from downtown. It opened in 1999, is open-air, and seats about 69,000. The 2026 season is the Titans' final one in this building. A new, enclosed Nissan Stadium with a translucent roof and about 60,000 seats is being built on the adjacent lot and is scheduled to open in 2027, after which the current stadium will be demolished.

Getting to Nissan Stadium

Downtown Nashville is a short walk away across the river. The Woodland Street Bridge, the Korean Veterans Boulevard Bridge and the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge all connect to the stadium. WeGo Public Transit runs bus routes to the stadium on game days, with drop-off and pickup on Woodland Street and South 1st Street, and also offers express train and park-and-ride express bus service from surrounding areas. Rideshare zones, bike valet, scooters and river boats are other options. Construction next door can change walking routes, so follow posted signs.

Parking

Construction of the new stadium has taken over lots that used to hold parking and tailgating, so on-site parking is limited. Recent seasons' stadium parking has been sold in advance through the stadium's parking operator, with no day-of sales at the stadium lots, and there are many private lots and garages downtown. Given the tighter supply, many fans walk over from downtown or use WeGo.

Arrival and entry

Titans tickets are mobile, so have them loaded before you reach the gate. The NFL clear-bag policy applies. Construction on the new stadium can affect walking routes around the building. Check the Titans' and Nissan Stadium's websites for gate opening times and any construction updates before you go.

Seating tips at Nissan Stadium

Nissan Stadium has three levels. The lower bowl (100 sections) wraps around the field. The club level (200 sections) and the upper level (300 sections) sit in two towers that rise along each sideline, with suites stacked between them. Club seats include access to indoor club lounges.

The stadium has no roof, so September games can be hot and December games cold. Dress for the forecast, and look at the seat map to compare the sideline towers with the end zone sections.

Buying Tennessee Titans tickets on TixBit

This is the last season at the current Nissan Stadium, which may add interest in late-season dates, especially the final regular-season home game on January 3, 2027 against Pittsburgh. AFC South games against the Texans, Colts and Jaguars are the core of the home schedule. Compare sideline tower seats with end zone sections on the seat map, and check listing notes for quantity rules. No fees for buyers.
