Houston Texans Tickets

The Houston Texans are the youngest franchise in the NFL. Houston was awarded the team in October 1999, and the Texans began play as an expansion club in 2002, filling the gap left when the Houston Oilers moved to Tennessee. The 2026 season is the franchise's 25th.

Houston has won the AFC South eight times (2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2023 and 2024) and has reached the playoffs nine times, but the Texans have not yet advanced past the Divisional Round. Andre Johnson, a receiver from 2003 to 2014, became the first player inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame primarily for his work in Houston, and defensive end J.J. Watt anchored the defense through the 2010s.

The current era is led by head coach DeMeco Ryans, hired in 2023, and quarterback C.J. Stroud, the 2023 Offensive Rookie of the Year. In 2025 the Texans recovered from an 0-3 start to finish 12-5, won their first road playoff game 30-6 at Pittsburgh, and then lost to New England in the Divisional Round.

The Texans play at Reliant Stadium on the Reliant Park campus in south Houston, Texas, next to the Astrodome. The stadium opened in 2002 as Reliant Stadium, was renamed NRG Stadium in 2014, was called Houston Stadium during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and returned to the Reliant Stadium name in August 2026 ahead of the Texans' season. It was the first NFL stadium built with a retractable roof, and it seats about 72,000 for football.

METRORail runs for all Texans home games. The Red Line stops at Stadium Park/Astrodome station, a walk of roughly 10 to 15 minutes from the stadium. Check ridemetro.org for service details. Rideshare and taxi drop-off is on the Main Street side of the campus, and the Texans encourage fans without a parking pass to use rideshare or transit.

Parking at Reliant Park is split into color-coded lots reached from Main Street, Kirby Drive or Fannin Street. Passes are sold online before game day, and the team does not handle parking with cash. Tailgating is a big part of Texans game days. Everyone over age two entering the lots needs a game ticket or a separate tailgate ticket, and lots close about an hour after the game ends.

All Texans tickets are mobile, so load them in the Houston Texans app before you leave home and check the ticket for the entrance closest to your seat. The NFL clear-bag policy applies, and guests are screened at entry. The team notes that the walk from some lots to a gate can take 30 minutes or more, so build in time. Reliant Stadium has three main seating tiers. The 100 level surrounds the field, the 300 level holds the club seats along both sidelines plus mezzanine seating, and the 500 and 600 levels form the upper deck.

Sideline seats on the 100 level are closest to the benches, while the upper deck gives a view of the whole field from above. The Bull Pen, a bleacher section in one end zone, is set aside for the home team's loudest fans. With a retractable roof, weather is less of a factor here than at open-air stadiums.

AFC South games against the Colts, Titans and Jaguars are the core of the home schedule, and prime-time games and playoff-race matchups late in the season tend to draw the most interest.
