About the Cleveland Browns

The Browns were founded in 1944 and first played in 1946 in the All-America Football Conference. Named for founding coach Paul Brown, they won all four AAFC championships from 1946 to 1949, then joined the NFL in 1950 and won the league title in their first season. Further NFL championships followed in 1954, 1955 and 1964. Quarterback Otto Graham and running back Jim Brown are among the Hall of Famers from those teams.

In 1995, owner Art Modell announced he would move the team to Baltimore. Under the settlement that followed, the Browns' name, colors and records stayed in Cleveland, while the franchise suspended operations from 1996 through 1998. The Browns resumed play in 1999.

The Browns are one of four NFL teams that have never appeared in a Super Bowl. Todd Monken is the head coach for the 2026 season.

The Cleveland Browns play in the AFC North with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Baltimore Ravens, and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Huntington Bank Field guide

Huntington Bank Field sits on the Lake Erie shoreline in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. It opened in 1999 as Cleveland Browns Stadium, was called FirstEnergy Stadium from 2013 to 2023, and took its current name in September 2024. The open-air stadium seats about 67,000, down from its original capacity after renovations in 2014. The team is building a new domed stadium in Brook Park, next to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and about 15 miles south of downtown. Construction began in spring 2026, with a ceremonial groundbreaking in April, and the new stadium is targeted to open for the 2029 season. The lakefront stadium is set to be demolished after the move.

Getting to Huntington Bank Field

The Greater Cleveland RTA rail system is the main transit option. W. 3rd St. station, served by the Blue, Green and Waterfront lines, is closest to the stadium. Tower City Center, served by all four rail lines, is about a 15-minute walk away, and Red Line riders can transfer there. Parking at RTA rail stations is free.

Parking

The stadium does not have large parking of its own. Passholder lots nearby open four hours before Browns kickoffs, and the team asks fans to add parking passes to the Browns app ahead of game day. The City of Cleveland's municipal lots east of the stadium, known as the Muni Lot, are where most game-day tailgating happens. Downtown garages are another option.

Arrival and entry

Tickets and parking passes are handled through the Browns mobile app, so load both well before kickoff. The NFL clear-bag policy applies at every gate. Check the stadium's website for gate opening times, the current bag rules and any changes for the 2026 season.

Seating tips at Huntington Bank Field

Huntington Bank Field has a lower bowl, a club level, suites and an upper deck. The best-known section is the Dawg Pound, the bleacher seating in the east end zone where many of the team's most vocal fans sit. Its upper level was reworked in 2014 to make room for larger scoreboards.

Sideline seats in the lower bowl give the best overall view, and club seats add indoor lounge access, which helps late in the season. The stadium sits right on the lake with no roof, so dress for wind and cold in November and December.

Buying Cleveland Browns tickets on TixBit

The Steelers game is usually the toughest Browns home ticket, with the Ravens and Bengals close behind. Prime-time games draw well, and late-season games on the lakefront come with cold and wind. With the team's move to Brook Park planned for 2029, the remaining lakefront seasons may attract extra interest. Compare Dawg Pound, sideline and club sections on the seat map and check listing notes. Never fees for buyers.
