Why this Highmark Stadium opener draws last-minute searches
This is the first regular-season game at the Bills' new Highmark Stadium, not a later home date at a familiar building. The Bills announced the Lions as the home opener when the 2026 Thursday Night Football slate was released. Bills announcement
That combination is enough to create same-day and next-day ticket searches:
- New venue. Buyers who skipped earlier sales still want a first look at the new bowl, canopy, and section layout.
- Contender Week 2 matchup. Both clubs entered the week 1-0 after opening wins, per the Bills watch guide and CBS Sports' Week 2 report.
- National Thursday window. A primetime slot pulls in traveling Lions fans and local buyers who decide after Week 1.
A new stadium does not change how tickets work. You still need the correct event, disclosed seats, a delivery method you can complete, and the full amount shown before payment.
For other Buffalo or Detroit games, use the Bills schedule, the Lions schedule, or the sports hub.
How to buy Bills vs. Lions tickets
Use this checklist on TixBit or any other marketplace you compare.
- Match the exact event. Detroit Lions at Buffalo Bills. Thursday, September 17, 2026. 8:15 p.m. ET. Highmark Stadium, Orchard Park, NY. Open the live TNF event page rather than a later Bills home game.
- Confirm it is a game ticket. Skip parking, tailgates, watch parties, and hospitality add-ons unless that is what you intend to buy.
- Read the seats that are shown. Check quantity, section, row, seat numbers, and any view or age restriction on the listing. What you see is what you get: real seats, real sections, no phantom rows.
- Check delivery. Mobile transfer can require an account and an accepted transfer in the primary issuer's app. Electronic delivery and transfer windows matter more on a Thursday night purchase.
- Compare the amount shown before payment. On TixBit there are no fees for buyers. What you see is what you pay. That is not a claim that TixBit is always the lowest total. If you check another site, match the same section, row, quantity, restrictions, and delivery, then compare the final disclosed totals.
A no-fee label does not settle the price question. Our ticket resale fee comparison explains how to compare the payable total across marketplaces.
TixBit listings are covered by the TixBit Guarantee. Read the current terms for canceled or unfulfilled orders before you check out.
What to check on a Highmark Stadium listing
New Highmark Stadium is listed on TixBit at Highmark Stadium, Orchard Park. Use that venue page when you want the building's upcoming events. Use the TNF event page when you want this specific Lions game.
Before you pay, confirm:
- Venue name: Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, not a different Buffalo building and not Ford Field.
- Section map: A generic NFL chart is not enough. Use the seat map on the event page for the new stadium.
- Row and seat disclosure: If a listing hides the row, treat it as a different product from a fully disclosed seat.
- Quantity: Compare the order total for the number of tickets you need, not a single-seat headline.
- Restrictions: Limited view, standing room, club access, and age rules belong in the listing details, not in a later surprise.
Browse all events only if you still need to find the game. Once you have it, stay on the event page until checkout.
