Knicks vs. 76ers Opening Night details

The NBA schedule release lists Philadelphia at New York at 7:00 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. Treat Tuesday, October 20, 7:00 p.m. ET as the event time. Confirm the event title, local time, and Madison Square Garden location before you pay. NBA: 2026-27 schedule announced

This is the Knicks' home opener and the Sixers' season opener. It is not the Sixers' Philadelphia home opener. That date is covered in the 76ers single-game and home-opener guide.

Why buyers search Knicks Opening Night tickets now

NBA.com described October 20 as banner night at the Garden and the start of a new chapter in the Knicks-Sixers rivalry. Reuters, citing Field Level Media, called the opener one of the marquee regular-season games after the Knicks' first title in 53 years and Philadelphia's offseason additions. NBA: 2026-27 schedule announced Reuters / Field Level Media (Sept. 17, 2026)

That combination is enough to create ticket searches:

• Championship banner night. The first Knicks title since 1973 is league context for demand, not a price forecast.
• New-look Sixers visit. James and Brown joining Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey is why buyers mix this MSG date with later Philadelphia home games. Match the New York event.
• National NBC / Peacock opener. A Tuesday Opening Night window pulls traveling Sixers fans and local buyers who decide after the public sale.

A banner-night label does not change how tickets work. You still need the correct event, disclosed seats, a delivery method you can complete, and the full amount shown before payment.

Reuters / Field Level Media reported TicketData get-in prices for this opener in the $1,251–$1,400 range as of September 17, 2026, including a $1,251 get-in that day and a high of $1,408 earlier that week. Those figures were current only as of that article. Check live listings; do not treat a competitor get-in as the price you will pay. Reuters / Field Level Media (Sept. 17, 2026)

For other New York or Philadelphia games, use the Knicks schedule, the 76ers schedule, or the sports hub. A later Garden date is the Spurs at Knicks Christmas Day rematch.

How to buy Knicks vs. 76ers Opening Night tickets

Use this checklist on TixBit or any other marketplace you compare.

1. Match the exact event. Philadelphia 76ers at New York Knicks. Tuesday, October 20, 2026. 7:00 p.m. ET. Madison Square Garden, New York, NY. Open the live Opening Night event page rather than a later Knicks home game or a Sixers home date.
2. Confirm it is a game ticket. Skip parking, watch parties, and hospitality add-ons unless that is what you intend to buy.
3. Read the seats that are shown. Check quantity, section, row, seat numbers, and any view or age restriction on the listing. What you see is what you get: real seats, real sections, no phantom rows.
4. Check delivery. Mobile transfer can require an account and an accepted transfer in the primary issuer's app. Accept the transfer before you travel to the Garden.
5. Compare the amount shown before payment. On TixBit there are never fees for buyers. What you see is what you pay. That is not a claim that TixBit is always the lowest total. If you check another site, match the same section, row, quantity, restrictions, and delivery, then compare the final disclosed totals.

A no-fee label does not settle the price question. Our ticket resale fee comparison explains how to compare the payable total across marketplaces.

What to check on a Madison Square Garden listing

Madison Square Garden is listed on TixBit at Madison Square Garden, New York. Use that venue page when you want the building's upcoming events. Use the Opening Night event page when you want this specific Sixers game.

Before you pay, confirm:

• Venue name: Madison Square Garden in New York, not a different Manhattan building and not Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia.
• Date: October 20 is Opening Night. December 25 is a different Knicks home game.
• Section map: A generic NBA chart is not enough. Use the seat map on the event page.
• Row and seat disclosure: If a listing hides the row, treat it as a different product from a fully disclosed seat.
• Quantity: Compare the order total for the number of tickets you need, not a single-seat headline.
• Restrictions: Limited view, standing room, club access, and age rules belong in the listing details, not in a later surprise.

Browse all events only if you still need to find the game. Once you have it, stay on the event page until checkout.
