Ticket sites with no hidden fees
Quick answer
Two major US ticket sites charge buyers no service fee at all: TixBit, which has no fees for buyers, and TickPick, which adds only local pickup, FedEx shipping, or sales tax where they apply. StubHub, SeatGeek, Vivid Seats, Ticketmaster, Gametime, and AXS do charge fees but include mandatory fees in the price you see, as US rules have required since May 12, 2025. Taxes, shipping, and optional add-ons can still appear before payment.

What no hidden fees means for US tickets
The FTC's Rule on Unfair or Deceptive Fees took effect on May 12, 2025. It makes it unfair and deceptive to show a live-event ticket price without clearly disclosing the total price, and that total must be shown more prominently than other pricing. The total includes every mandatory fee. Government charges, physical shipping, and optional add-ons can be left out of it.
Anything left out must still be disclosed, along with the final amount, before you agree to pay. So on covered US offers, a mandatory fee should never first appear at checkout. What can still change between the event page and the receipt is tax, shipping for physical tickets, and extras you choose.
No buyer fees versus fees included
TixBit and TickPick do not charge buyers a service fee, so the listed price is the seller's price. TixBit has no fees for buyers. What you see is what you pay. TickPick says the only charges above its listed price are a $5 local pickup fee, FedEx shipping at $10.99 or $15.99 when tickets ship, and sales tax in states that require it.
StubHub, SeatGeek, Vivid Seats, Ticketmaster, Gametime, and AXS charge buyer fees but fold the mandatory ones into the displayed price. StubHub's service and fulfillment fees have no set percentage. Vivid Seats builds in a service charge and a delivery charge. SeatGeek, Gametime, and AXS include mandatory fees, and Ticketmaster includes required fees, generally before taxes. Neither model is automatically cheaper, because sellers set the underlying ticket prices.
Charges that can still appear before you pay
Taxes: Ticketmaster adds applicable taxes unless a state requires them in the upfront price, AXS includes or lists them by local rule, and TickPick collects sales tax in the jurisdictions it names. Delivery: Ticketmaster charges only for mail or courier, AXS Mobile ID delivery is free, and TickPick charges for FedEx or local pickup. Optional extras: SeatGeek's Refundable Tickets add-on and the ticket insurance Vivid Seats mentions in its terms cost extra only if you choose them.
Viagogo is the exception in this list. Its user agreement says its service fees vary and are disclosed before you buy, without saying the first price you see includes them, so check its final total before paying. It also has buyers pay in the listing's currency, so a converted price is an estimate and your card issuer may add a charge. TixBit checks out in US dollars.
How to check any ticket site for hidden fees
Note the price on the event page for your exact seats and quantity. Go to the final review screen before paying and compare the order total. Any difference should be tax, physical shipping, or an option you selected. If a mandatory fee appears only at that step on a US offer, treat it as a warning sign and compare the same seats elsewhere.

Are hidden ticket fees illegal?
For covered US offers, yes in effect. Taxes, physical shipping, and optional add-ons may be excluded but must be disclosed before payment.

No. A site without buyer fees can still show a higher seller price for the same seats. Compare the final total for the same date, section, row, quantity, and delivery method across sites.
Does Ticketmaster have hidden fees?
Ticketmaster says its upfront price covers face value and required fees and is the price you pay, generally before taxes. A delivery fee is added only if you choose mail or courier delivery.

StubHub says its displayed price includes all mandatory fees. Its buyer service and fulfillment fees have no set percentage and change with ticket price, time to the event, and demand, so the fee amount differs by listing.
